IDEO.org: “Design / Foster / Spread”

We’ve said it before about the organization’s various efforts, but IDEO.org‘s “Design / Foster / Spread” messaging and graphics (represented above) give new meaning to “simplicity on the other side of complexity.” The expression comes from Oliver Wendell Holmes, when he wrote, “I wouldn’t give a fig for the simplicity on this side of complexity, but I would give my life for the simplicity on the other side of complexity.”

Design: We’re problem solvers who believe in the power of design.

Foster: We’re creating a new cadre of leaders who are ready to take on the challenges of poverty.

Spread: We believe that spreading new approaches to solving problems is one of the most effective ways to create change.
